Frankfurt Zoological Society has always been keeping it's staff small, investing as much as possible in nature conservation.

In 2001, Frankfurt Zoological Society created the positions of Executive Director and President to replace the former presidential office, which was equipped with executive authorities. The reorganization of the Business Office into departments for Nature Conservation (consisting of the areas Africa, Europe, Asia and South America), Public Relations and Marketing, and Administration and Finances ensures an effective and lean management structure. In March 2001, „Help for Threatened Wildlife“ joined FZS as a supporting foundation.
